Gently circulate heat throughout the room with this self-powered Phantom Stove Fan. Its thermo-electric action allows you to maximise the energy produced from your stove and reduce fuel consumption.
Silent in operation with satin black anodised blades- this is a very elegant product. The base of this fan is 10cm long and 7.5cm deep. the height is 20cm and it has a blade width of 13.5cm
How it works
As the base of the fan heats up, the metal in the bottom of the unit warms along with a heat sensitive spring. Once the heat sensitive spring reaches sufficient temperature it tilts the entire fan forward, bringing the two layers of metal together. This action creates a small electrical pulse that is sufficient to turn the blade on the fan moving the warm air into the room rather than up a chimney.
The greater the temperature difference, the greater the electrical output; meaning that your fan turns faster the more the stove heats up. This amazing solution means this innovative stove fan does not use batteries or mains power.
Using your fan
Correct placement of the fan is critical to getting the best performance.
Positioning your fan the rear of the stove is ideal, it will aid in creating the temperature differential needed and ensure warm air is pushed forward.
The back of the stove allows heat to be absorbed into the base and upwards, whilst ensuring that the fins on the rear of the fan can draw cold air. It is this combination of hot and cold across the fan that triggers the reaction required to generate the electricity that rotates the fan. The fan should not be placed at the front of the stove or near the stovepipe as there is insufficient cold air in these areas.
The stove fan is designed for usage on freestanding stoves with a normal surface temperature of between 205 degrees and 345 degrees Celsius. Temperatures above this range may damage the fan and the electricity generating units and invalidate your warranty. Good stove safety practice includes the use of a stove thermometer.
